Every time I click on anything an advert for antivirus 2008 appears. Can I stop this happening?

Your personal has a Smitfraud infection. Any “warnings” are fradulant and a scam.
Nearly all “general purpose”,”all-in one” spyware and virus removal programs such as AVG, Norton, McAfee or Spybot S & D cannot remove it.
