Okay, so my parents, being the stubborn people that they are, want to stick with McAfee. I don't want McAfee. How can I go about changing their mind?

Answer:
Tell your parents, that McAfee isn’t a very good anti virus program.

You can do much superior and all for nothing. That should convince your parents.

Because free programs are never absolutely as secure as the programs you are paying for I always advocate not to install either AVG free or Avast free, but one of those 2 in combination with 2 other programs.

AVG free

http://free.avg.com/

or

Avast free

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht…

Then the 2 programs you should install togehter with one of the above.

Threatfire is an anti virus, that can be installed next to any other anti virus program on the same computer

http://www.threatfire.com/

There is a lot of mal ware you have to protect your pc against.

This is a very good program, that absolutely runs in the background

http://www.comodo.com/boclean/boclean.ht…

When you don’t have a good firewall yet, you could install this one

http://www.pctools.com/firewall/

Installing these programs, won’t use any extra RAM or CPU usage.

Your personal will be very well protected and it does cost you nothing

Answer:
i've tried McAfee way back in 1997 and again in 2003. i've been attacked by virus both times resulting in my PC's (6) and 2 laptops crashing and my hard disk being wiped out. after my last experience with cyber virii and spyware in 2003, i switched to zone alarm security suite. been using it for the past four, nearly five years and i still have to have an encounter with a virus. it's a darn good program and so is its firewall. i've intoduced it to all my friends and all of them swear by it. take it from someone who's had the headache of having his entire system crash, ZA is tops for me. :)

Answer:
It's up to your partents, so you need to stick with McAfee, but the software below won't conflict with it, so if your really paranoid, use these also.

I recommend: ESET On the web Scanner http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/

NOD32 (Made by ESET) is by FAR the BEST AntiVirus protection avalible. I'd also recommend downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Scanner malwarebytes.com/mbam.php. MBAM (Malware Bytes Anti Malware) is BY FAR the ideal Anti-Spyware scanner available. Both scanners are free (Using the On the web ESET scan). If you want added protection, you should also download Norton Security Scan (Download from pack.google.com by unchecking everything EXEPT the software and pressing Download Now). Norton Security scan doesn't offer real-time protection (that is, it doesn't prevent you from getting viruses, but it does detect and remove them).

Answer:
Tell them to try out Avast. If they don't like it then they can remove it.

Go to www.filehippo.com

Download Avast Anti-virus

Best. Anti virus. Ever. I'm not joking.

> Free

> All reviews are perfect

> Gets rid of any virus

Try it and you’ll see :) It is so simple to use as well.

Hope it helps :)

Answer:
Tell them too get Avast Home Edition for antivirus.. it is free.. that should make them want too switch.

Then use Spybot, Comodo BoClean, and Superantispyware for anti spyware, and Comodo Firewall Pro for Firewall.

All are free.

Answer:
