My laptop(Toshiba) has been attacked by this virus. How do i remove it from Safemode?
Answer:
I just got infected and I asked a comp techie for my company to fix it and he said that he needs to bring it back to his shop to examine and then fix it, which of course, I take for a complete bullcrap. All these people are trying to make money out of your misery. Anyway, I googled for it and found the easiest way to get rid of the unwanted pop-up and 'shield' (which by the way states You Have A Security Problem!) in less than 15 mins. I would like to share with you.
The true definition of this problem is ..
—>' . Roguefix detection and removal script to clean computers with the Windows XP operating system that are infected with fake security warnings from a family of rogue scanners, Desktop/Homepage hijackers, their installing/accompanying trojans and 'partner' programs.'<---- understanding the very basic nature of the infection is crucial in curing it.
Okay, so here goes .. go to this site —> http://www.internetinspiration.co.uk/rog… and download this .bat file at this link —> http://www.internetinspiration.co.uk/dow… . Make sure you save it to your desktop so you won't have to waste too much time looking for it later. REMEMBER! DON'T CLICK ON THE FILE YET! WE'LL DO THAT LATER!
Go to My Personal folder and then click Tools and then select Folder Options. Here check the box that says, Show Hidden Files. This is a step that you can't afford to miss. You can do this some other way that you're familiar with, as long as it shows your hidden files.
After doing that, restart your personal and boot up in safe mode. Remember, SAFE MODE. After the desktop reveals, just click on the file marked roguefix_2.203.bat and just follow the instructions after that. Reboot (after finishing everything!) in normal Mode.
A log file will be created at the end of the process. The deleted/cleaned files will be recorded for your reference.
There… that solved my problem. No more 'evil' IE browsers popping up, no more fake security shields at the bottom of my screen and everything is running really smooth now. This would/should be a standard solution for infected computers.

Antivirus2008, also known as Antivirus 2008, is rogue anti-spyware software. Antivirus2008 can get into users computer by installing a fake video codec like Video ActiveX Codec. After codec installation user can be disturbed with pop-up advertisements saying his computer is infected. They will try to trick user that he needs system scan and that the “best” program is Antivirus2008 for this kind of thing. After user downloads and installs Antivirus2008 program will star showing fake security messages. But this time Antivirus2008 fake messages can appear as normal system messages. If user clicks this fake message it will open up a buy page where it will ask to buy the Antivirus2008. Don’t be tricked by these fake messages from Antivirus2008.
Antivirus2008 is a serious threat to users computer system as it can add a Trojan Zlob to his system. Delete Antivirus2008 as soon as possible from your personal and protect your computer!
