I was using Symantc Anti virus but all the on the internet articles that I have read my friends all advocate that I get rid of it because it is a resource hog . I had finished downloading the installation for AVG free version and many articles states that I should only have 1 anti virus in my computer. So what should I do? if I uninstall my symantec antivirus will all the quarantined files get deleted or what ?

it should prompt you to delete them in the uninstaller.
